Guest guest
Flight was delayed coming out of Tulsa, slightly we had to set on the runway for 30 mins waiting for the weather to clear in Dallas. After that it was fair sailing all the way to Austin. Spent the night visiting with my sister and the next day they took me to the Radient Research facility at the North Austin Medical Center. I was greeted by my coordinator there, and we set off to fill out paperwork for the research program. Then they drew ungodly amounts of blood from me. I swear to good they collected 15 vials of blood. No kidding. And I did the cup thingie. LOL Then I got to meet with Dr. Alim and he was a very sweet man, only advice he gave to me was to lose some weight before starting treatment as it works better for those in better shape than this old gal. So I am on a diet. LOL There was a thought that I might have to have another liver biopsy and I said no problem I will do it. But they are going to try to use my old results as I just missed the date by a week they are good for 2 years. Those people were so nice, I just hope everything works out. I really believe that they will be a hope for me in clearing this virus from my system. God willing and the creek don't rise. Speaking of creek rising. That part of Texas got alot of rain and ugh it was mushy wet. Creeks were over flowing the banks. I lived in that area as a kid, so my family took me to some of the places I grew up. Many things had changed in the years. But some sites were familiar. That was a good thing. I love the old courthouse in the square of Lockhart and that was a good reference point for me in my memories. I think Texas is good for me, as I had a renew sense of enegry. I don't know if it was the fact that I had my big sister there and we were trying to visit all we could in that short amount of time. But my aches and woes were no that bad. It just could have been the love and concern that made me feel so much better. Hmmmmm note to self, keep a loving person around me at all times. LOL But I have a good feeling about this program and they are still looking for others to participate if any of you are interested. Especially if you live or have access to the Austin Area. My sister lives there so I am using her home as my base during treatment. All and all it was a postive step in the right direction for me. Hope all is well with the members here. I am off to celebrate the fourth of July with my family here in Oklahoma. Be good guys, and be safe. Boom,Boom Pow,Happy 4th. Guest guest
Janet, I'm glad things went so well in Texas and everything seemed so positive. That's a good omen! Hopefully the treatment will go well too, and you can clear! Will you have to keep flying into Texas for treatment, or can you do that in OK? I was born in Calif but my parents are from Tx and I have lots of family there. My cousins tell me I AM a Texan, just misplaced a bit! *s* But I dunno, I'm more of a " left coast " kinda guy! Take care, Ray Janet wrote: Flight was delayed coming out of Tulsa, slightly we had to set on the runway for 30 mins waiting for the weather to clear in Dallas.
