fyi, I gained weight every time they put me on the synthroid meds. So don't think one is better to not gain weight. Its how you feel, are you getting water retension? I couldn't walk from synthroid. I donn't have these problems on Armour.

Hi Joan - what do you mean by "I couldn't walk from synthroid"?

Also, do people find they feel differently with a combination of lexothyroxine and T3 as oppoed to taking Armour? How long should you expect to give the T3 to feel better? And if you should not feel better with T3, does that mean one should then try Armour?

Hi, I had such bad edema of the feet. The DR's sent me to get an MRI to confirm it was edema. My feet hurt so bad, I couldn't walk. As soon as I went onto Armour the edema subsided and wow I could walk. One of the side effects of synthroid is edema of the feet and legs, and the xxxxxx DR.'s didn't want to acknowledge that. I had it from the company itself.

The weight gain has been awful, and I suffered for 14months. And from being on here and another board, (I can't rmemeber which one., ) but they educated me, and was taking extra POtassium to get get rid of the fluids. But how annoying. Now I don't have any problems with water retention like I was.

Hi, Miaja -- nice to hear from you. Sorry to hear

you're struggling with our old pal, the weight gain

though. Just thought I'd chime in and say I do think

adding a little Armour to my regimen helped me

lose my extra weight. (Haven't been able to shake

the last 5-7 pounds, but I guess those are always

the hardest.) Of course, we're all different... some

docs have said since Armour is natural it is more

likely to be attacked along with your body's own

thyroid if you have Hashi's. So maybe some people

do gain weight but it hasn't been my experience.

How do you feel otherwise? I didn't feel good on

Armour alone, but adding a little to my Levoxyl

regimen has me in pretty good shape.

Hi, I realized I didn't answer your question " how long should you expect to give T3 to feel better? I felt a little better every day once I started taking the Armour(which has T3) And by the time a mo. passed I was very pleased.

Synthroid takes 30 days to regulate too. But I liked how I felt from the armour right away. And it only improved. Then I went to increase it, a little bit, and found the right dose for me. Because now if I increase it and its too much, I know it. right away.
