It means commiting yourself to doing Tae-Bo for 21 consecutive days to make

Welcome to our group! Where are you from? What tapes do you have?

There are no stupid questions! The 21 day challenge is when someone

commits to doing something daily for 21 days in order to make the

action habitual. Usually it means doing Tae Bo every day for 21

days...it could mean doing just the 8-minute tape on some of those

days...the point is to do something. Some people do other 21 day

challenges such as drinking 8 glasses of water a day...or not getting

on the scale. It can be anything one wants to make routine in one's

life.

This group is here to provide support and motivation on your Tae Bo

journey. I look forward to hearing more from you.

Wanda,

Welcome to the group! 26lbs is great! I don't know how much you have to loose

but thats alot in just a few months time. When you loose it slow and steady it

means its gone for good. When you loose weight too quickly your body goes into

starvation mode which means your metabolism slows down. That means you'll

become someone who has to limit herself to three carrots a day in order to

maintain her weight. I don't know about you but I love food and just couldn't

live like that!

few posters here do WWW with good results. What tapes do you have? Did

you do any other exercise before taebo? How much do you hope to lose?

Hi Elena,

Thanks for responding. I have been walking since being on WW. I usually

walk about 4 days a week for a half hour per session at about 3.5 mph on the

treadmill. My inches are coming off for sure, which is great, but I have

heard spectacular things about TaeBo and have read alot of the success

stories and they are so inspiring. I own just the intro and the basic

tapes, that's it so far. I plan on starting with 2 days a week doing Tae Bo

and 3 days a week walking...starting today.

I will look at the site that you gave me and get to know everyone.

And let's not forget that going back and practicing your form counts

too! Form is *so* important in doing Tae-Bo. Proper form is really what

gives us the muscle toning benefits, and it's what keeps us from hurting

ourselves.

Many people (like me) will look at that instructional video one or two

times and jump right into the Basic tapes, not realizing that they haven't

conquered the proper form of the moves -- particularly those side kicks.

If during your 21-day challenge you find that you need to check out your

form, go back to that instructional video, slow down your moves and really

concentrate. It will also count in your challenge because you're still

focusing on TaeBo!

Woo hoo! Another Weight Watcher! TB & WW is *the* perfect

combination! I'm a WW too. I've had a couple of backslides, and I can't

do TB right now because I hurt my back. But I'm back on track with WW and

will soon be punching and kicking again!

You're doing wonderfully! You don't even want to hear my bad WW story. I

started in January and have only lost about 7 lbs. But that's my fault. I

keep jumping off the wagon.

I remember back a few years ago I did WW starting in May and had lost 33

lbs. by October, so your success sounds great!!! Excellent in fact!

Try switching that around. Do TaeBo at least 3 times a week.

Wow! You go girl!!! Taebo will jumpstart your weight loss a *LOT*

more! Just don't use up your exercise points in food. Let the exercise

burn up more fat rather than allowing you to eat more.

Thanks, Sandy!!

I actually had started WW in August of 99 and I just could not committ at

all. It wasn't good. In March, for some reason, I felt the need to really

go for it and commit myself to it, and it has been working for the most

part. I definitely have my days when I eat everything in site, but usually

stay on track 95% of the time. Are you still doing WW?

I will probably take you up on your suggestion of reversing my workout

order, but for right now til I get the routines down, I think I need to go

with what I said....and make sure that I don't kill myself trying. LOL.

That's how I'm feeling right now. I don't know what it is, but I feel like

I'm suddenly in a time of change. I'm going natural with my hair (I'm a

black woman, and this is a *major* step for me), and I feel that the

exercise and taking care of my body is a part of that. I seem to be into a

whole new " take care of myself naturally " thing. I'm now into WW with a

vengence! :-)

Oh yes. And the friends on this list tolerate me sending my daily journals

and tips to the list. It helps me, and it helps them to see how the foods

balance out.

I am finding that I am now challenged because having done this for over a

month now, when I am re-doing tapes I am now concentrating on form, instead

of just trying to make it all the way through! So it is like it is brand

new all over again :)

I heard a gym here is sending one of their instructors up to the states to

train to be a kick-boxing teacher. Ah....but he ain't !

Welcome! 26 pounds in 4 months is nothing to sneeze at! There are a

lot of folks doing WW here. Tae Bo and WW dovetail nicely. You'll

get lots of support and motivation here. Where are you from? What

tapes are you using?
