Guest guest
Hi Blane, I am from Conroe TX originally! But now we are in Nashville, TN. Anyway, I know of a couple of sources in that area. If you want to contact me off-list I can give them to you. Yo umay already know about them, but it doesn't hurt to check. Guest guest
Hi Blane, and welcome to the herd! Just tonight my husband commented that his usual spring allergies are not bothering him this year...he (grudgingly) attributes this to raw milk. -Blair > Blane on > blane.robertson@c... > Just north of Houston, TX. > wanna-be raw milk consumer > > I have been using kefir (member of the kefir-making group on Yahoo) for > about 3 months now. Guest guest
Hi Blane, I am a recent joiner myself (I live in Houston), but you are way ahead of me. I also have joined the kefir-making group and have been using it for about a month. I really like it but it is so expensive to buy! So I will be taking a class on kefir making this Friday through Leisure Learning. The instructor owns a goat farm so maybe I'll be able to report another raw milk source for folks in the area. Guest guest
Betty Kefir should not be expensive. You need to get a hold of some kefir grains and make your own. Try at www.rejoiceinlife.com. (Did that web address come through?) It is SO easy to make. Basically, you put grains in milk, let it sit out for 24 hours at room temp., then strain out the grains and drink the kefir. Put the grains in fresh milk and start the process again. That's all their is to it. > Hi Blane, > > I am a recent joiner myself (I live in Houston), but you are way ahead > of me. Guest guest
Betty- Thanks for the welcome. It's cool to know that there is someone around that's pretty much in the same boat as me (on the learning curve, anyway). Let me know what you find out in the class. Do you have any kefir grains yet? If not, I have LOTS! (email me off-list if you want). I can relate to the expensive stuff. I currently buy my milk at CostCo., where it's cheaper than anywhere else, but it's now up to $3.00/gallon. On a regular day (before kefir), we could go through a gallon easy... Peace, Blane I pray that out of his glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being - Eph. 3:16 Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're right. - Henry Ford ******************************************************* " bje333 " <bje333@yahoo To: RawDairy .com> cc: Subject: Re: Please Welcome 05/19/2004 Blane to our List! 08:43 PM Please respond to RawDairy Hi Blane, I am a recent joiner myself (I live in Houston), but you are way ahead of me.
