Guest guest
.... Try some sweet and low on your oatmeal.... cinnamon, a bit of fruit like crasins or raisins would be good. I like to add peanut butter sometimes but need to watch that as it can get quite addictive! Congrats on taking the challenge! Lana C1W1D1 Today is the first day of my first challenge!! My work out this morning was great!! My oatmeal is bland though. Any suggestions as to what to do since butter and sugar are no no's? I was thinking of adding some fruit to it. I am so psyched about this. I am looking forward to day seven of week 12. Woohoo!!!
Guest guest
Welcome ! I'm in my last week of my first challenge and I remember very well my first few weeks. To spice up my oatmeal I'll add a 1/2 packet of Equal, some cinnamon and a few drops of maple extract. > My oatmeal is bland though. Any suggestions as to > what to do __________________________________________________
Guest guest
, Congratulations on starting your Challenge! For the Oatmeal, I use Spelnda ( sugar substitute that you can find at the supermarket), cinnamon and vanilla protein powder. My husband uses chocolate protein powder and diet Swiss Miss (which has Spelnda). I use water no cook it and no milk. Jill Today is the first day of my first challenge!! Guest guest
Make it Power Oatmeal and add some chocolate protein powder and peanut butter. Oatmeal by itself is not a BFL meal, but maybe you are already eating something else with it like eggs? Guest guest
Hi ! Welcome I like to use 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, a dash of nutmeg, a dash of cinnamon, splenda to taste, and a little bit of fat free 1/2 and 1/2 cream. This really tastes good, and the carbs/protein grams are pretty balanced. One thing you have to watch out about putting milk and fruit on oatmeal is that the oatmeal is pretty high in carbs to start with....adding fruit and milk will just increase the carbs. Fat free 1/2 1/2 only has a few g's carbs per 3 Tbs....just mush it all up and enjoy ~~ ps, if you are needing more protein, just add a smidge more powder, or eat 2 egg whites in addition to this. > My oatmeal is bland though. Any suggestions as to > what to do
Guest guest
Hi Terri I like to cook up a huge container of oatmeal at the beginning of the week.... (I do this with brown rice too) that way it is all ready to go, and I just have to re-heat it in the Microwave It saves me on time, because usually when its time to eat, I want to EAT and not fiddle with cooking. LOL I warm up the oatmeal, then add the rest. Enjoy! ~~ , This might be a dumb question but, do you cook this? Do you cook the oatmeal and then add the other stuff or vice versa? On the stove or in the microwave? I want to try it but I need more details… Terri
Guest guest
Hi ! Looks like you and I are " starting " partners!! I kind of started yesterday but we had no food in the house and no workout equipment. Today that is all changed and I have officially started. I am sooooo excited and so determined to do this!! My workout was good today, I definantly reached my high point ~ although I couldn't do all the reps. Anyway, I wanted to tell you, I have a good recipe for oatmeal. I haven't tried it but I will sometime this week, I bought all the ingredients last night. Oh, I got it off of the recipe site at www.bodyforlife.com ~ it's a super good site. I went to the Breakfast category, typed in oatmeal, and wah-lah! Came up with a bunch of them. =) ***Blueberry Oatmeal Cereal -1 serving- 1/2 c oatmeal 1/2 c blueberries 1 T sliced almonds 1 T crushed flax seed 1 Scoop Protein Powder 1/4 c milk (I assume this is skim) Follow package directions to made oatmeal. Add remaining ingredients. Mix. Enjoy. Take care....Sherah Message: 16 Date: Mon, 25 Jun 2001 10:05:16 -0500 Subject: C1W1D1 Today is the first day of my first challenge!!
