Guest guest
Yes, Medicare would provide coverage for those services. -----Original Message-----From: Woodward, L Sent: Friday, May 21, 2004 8:55 AMTo: TxFinancialCoordinatorsYahoogroupsSubject: Post Liver Txp Hi everyone. I have a patient that is three years post txp (liver). He was txp'ed at Mayo in Jax'ville, FL, but he now wants to transfer his care to us because we are in state, and he is Medicare only. Our liver program is new, so we are not Medicare approved yet. My question is, would Medicare pay if he came here to be followed by our liver doc and to get his monthly labs? Thanks....Have a wonderful and safe weekend. L. Guest guest
so they are not considered transplant related? Or it is only a matter on Medicare payment id the transplant did not take place at a Medicare facility. From: Toby, M. Guest guest
Medicare would only deny the transplant episode - They will treat all post care as normal care and pay at 80%. Guest guest
The only issue is the organ transplant itself. Post care can be given at any facility that takes care of liver, lung, heart etc. B Larson>>> woodwardjenniferl@... 05/21/04 09:00AM >>> so they are not considered transplant related?
