If you would ask me for a good reason to leave my life I woudn't have a good one But ? ? I would find it surprising coming from most people, but not . is the one that said " If you still believe that life is higher than death, then you are confused. " was not confused and she was honest. Of course, she might have made up some reasons but she responded with honest sincerity. First a " yes " reaction because the notion that " life is higher than death " is a belief and, in my experience, all beliefs are inherently suspect (even the good ones, the ones we like and wish to keep). Simultaneously there is a pull in another direction, a sense, clearly nonverbal, than " life yearns to persist. " It is as if the " life force " wishes to recreate itself, moment to moment. Is that a " higher " state than non-life? I have no idea and no way of measuring it. It does, however, *feel* as if it is a preferred state. But I'm only talking about me here. Clearly, because suicide happens, there are some in whom the yearning for life to persist is not as compelling as some other force. was not confused and she was honest. *****How do you know that she was either of these things?
