Guest guest
That is the correct order, and if he is elig for part B Medicare at the time of the transplant they will cover 80% of the immuno's. >>> MZiomek@... 03/26/04 09:51AM >>> Hi everyone, Happy Friday! Question regarding Medicare and COBRA....I have a tx patient who has access to a COBRA plan, Medicare and a state Medicaid. The COBRA ends the end of the month, and I need to know how to rank the insurers in the billing system...is it COBRA, Medicare and Medicaid? I know that Medicare won't pay for the immunos unless they pay for the tx, but does that mean the tx itself, or the tx admission? Can someone clarify the ranking for me? Thanks! Guest guest
Remember, pt has to be Entitled to at least Part A at time of transplant. And needs to be Entitled to Part B when they want/need the drug benefit. Just being eligible for Medicare confers no benefits. Pt. has to have done the paperwork and be Entitled. Guest guest
If patient has COBRA b4 Mcare is active, COBRA may terminate. Have pt check their summary plan description. If Mcare active B4 COBRA they should be ok. Guest guest
ranking is correct; however, how is the patient affording the COBRA payment and is entitled to medicaid also? >>> Sherri.Sbalbi@... 03/26/04 12:46PM >>> If patient has COBRA b4 Mcare is active, COBRA may terminate.
