No, it's a statement. It's also one I strongly disagree with. Some of us have relatives, friends, and/or neighbors either over there, or on their way over there. They are fighting, just in case you haven't grasped this yet, so that WE won't have to fight them here in this country, as we did on 9/11. I did not join this group to be have someone else's political agenda shoved down my throat, and I strongly resent it happening. I just submitted a note that hasn't appeared yet (yours appeared AFTER I had written my note, and in my note -- I was wondering if you two were kidding with each other). It became apparent that you weren't kidding. I should not have assumed you were. I can see where you would have been offended (whereas I may have not been because 1) I simply wasn't thinking, and 2) because I used to listen to Prine, who is a folk singer from " my time " , (for lack of better words), and 3) I probably wasn't even aware that I wasn't " reading into: the words and was only thinking of the song " Sam Stone " when I read rics except from a Prine song. I don't like disrespect shown towards this war's cause and/or our servicemen and troops, either, and that is one reason I left the first Hep C forum I ever registered to. I have family serving -- my only son, 22 yrs old, who just came home from 9 mo in Afghanistan and who may have to go back to Iraq. I get upset when I think someone is voicing a " bad opinion " of our troops. Please accept my apologies if I offended you by appearing to chime in with a political view. I wasn't, and I didn't mean to appear that I was. jets In a message dated 7/2/2004 1:23:56 PM Eastern Standard Time, jeanneg@... writes: > At 09:56 AM 7/2/2004 -0700, you wrote: > >It's just a song!!!! > > No, it's a statement. Guest guest
Hi ric. thanks, but for apologizing, but I wasn't offended personally because I didn't read anything into it that raised a flag with me (no pun intended) or that offended me from a personal standpoint. I have so much music I listen to and love (depending on the mood I'm in). Music is good therapy for me! I pulled out Prine's Anthology today and listened to it -- all because of YOU -- LOL. And again -- I heard MANY beautiful songs that calmed me, make me think, made me remember, and were just good for my soul. I still love Sam Stone as much as I did decades ago and as much as I did last year; and Hello in There ? ? Still makes me sad for the lonely, old people out there. " Ya’ know that old trees just grow stronger, And old rivers grow wilder ev’ry day. Old people just grow lonesome Waiting for someone to say, " hello in there, hello. " There's lessons in song! I've decided that in order to counter the melancholy that settled into me today I'm going to have to break down and play some Kid Rock tonight (roll eyes - lol) " yep " Where's my Sinatra? All of ya' have a great night and great 4th Jets In a message dated 7/2/2004 3:33:36 PM Eastern Standard Time, ineamer@... writes: > Jets and all------I'll apologize to you but again I say.
