Must be the full moon or something. Doug, there's a little feature for group owners/moderators that I've found helpful in my own groups. I clicked on the feature that puts all new members in the moderated message status. It's stopped all of this nonsense on those groups, although mine are way smaller than this one. Guest guest Posted April 8, 2004 Report Share Posted April 8, 2004 Doug, Me too, darn them. They are spambots that take on a name through yahoo ie:futureloving2012@.... All we can do is delete the post from the board, and those that recieve daily digest or individual email are stuck reading their spam. The only way we can solve that is to restrict our memberships, make to where we as moderators would have to approve the membership and approve the posts before they can join. Now I am reluctant to do that as so many folks come in and need answers now, and not when you or I can get to the business of taking care of the group. I am on mostly in the mornings, you are on at different times. So as I can see it, all we can do is delete the post,ban the author and delete them from our membership. Folks bear with Doug and I as we try to keep this a support group and not a dating service. I am not saying that Doug and I are saying you can't find love in Hepatitis_C_Central. I happen to love each and everyone of you. But that is not the main focus of this group. Hepatitis C and liver diease is our focus.
