Hi there,1 more week to go before I change my life forever. I'm so hungry!! I was thinking.... Do you think it would be ok to take duromine to stop the hunger? I'm getting desperate. I have some but am not sure if a good idea before surgery. Would love some advice on how others got through this.

Thanks all. SkyeSent from my iPhone

Hey Skye

I would be checking with your surgeon re the duromine - as there is quite a restriction on what you can take in regards to medicine before the surgery.

Re the hunger - are you still on the optifast? I could not tolerate the taste - moved to Tony Ferguson but I did check with the clinic first. It wont keep you as full as the optifast though - but tasted sooo much nicer!. I was climbing up the walls with hunger for a few days - but it settled pretty quick - hope yours does! One thing is for sure - you wont be hungry once the surgery is done!

All in all - best to check before you divert from the instructions is my motto!

Good luck!

Hi , Thanks for the reply. Optislim at the moment just so bored with it. It's doesn't help when you have to cook for the family. I know duromine is not the answer (it never has been).

Can't wait for next week. Thanks againSkye hungry.  Sent from my iPhone

hi Skye,My surgeon gave me a prescription for duramine and said to take it if I got too hungry during the pre op diet phase. I didn't need it but it must be safe if he prescribes it.I was on optifast shakes, bars or soups 3 times a day with a cup of vegs. I found that was enough to keep me satisfied.I think determination had something to do with it too.RobbiTo: "SydBand " <SydBand >Sent: Wed, 10 November, 2010 7:47:47 PMSubject: Re: Hello All...

My dietician reccommdended eating more low GI veggies or bulking up the soups. But double check before you do that ;)

Hope all goes well for you

Hey Mel

Getting on ok here. I have had a up and down journey since july - but hoping all good sailing now!

I went back to my clinic on monday, after emailing them friday last week stating I had again woken up starving, had a bowl of porridge - still starving ... had a bit more to eat after that - still starving ....

They put a lot more in for a fill than they have put before - and it seems to have settled down the "starving"! I now am not getting hungry till around 9am .. as opposed to 6.30am and it lasting all day! I have some other medical issues going on that are causing "naughty cravings" but working on settling that down ......

But how proud am I of me?? I had a bad headache yesterday all day and could not shift it ... the prev lazy jenny would have cancelled the personal training session at the gym last night ... but the new jenny texted the trainer and said I was ailing a tad and be "gentle" - and I still went! And he was gentle - letting me drive things like weights and treadmill speed and I ended up going past what I normally do :) Love the new energy!!!!! (though driving my staff at work mad - as I am doing their work as well as mine and they hate their team leader stickin their nose in LOL)

Hi

Glad to hear you are going well... with headaches believe it or not having a cup of coffee can help relieve a headache. Not sure how it works but it was recommended to me by a doctor who trained over seas so she can't practice here in Australia till she does another course here. I was skeptical at first but it does seem to help.

hope all goes well with you

I usually have a coke zero ..... as I am intolerant of caffeine ... but for a quick caffeine hit I know I can handle - I go for the coke :)
