Guest guest
I phoned my father today. I had sent him a picture of Ozzy, our dog, and we talked a little about it. Then I told him I´m getting another dog soon, in two weeks, a little puppy. My father said something like " now why on earth are you going to have 2 dogs? " Because I love dogs, the more the merrier and a want a friend for Ozzy, was my answer. But he could only see problems. " If it is a male they can start fighting " . Well it´s a female. " Oh, then you will have blood everywhere when she is in heat " . Well, I will have to clean it up then. " And when they start making babies, have you thought of that? " Yes, that´s the idea, I want them to have puppies from them that I can sell. " Well you won´t get much for a mixed rase. Seriously , this sounds like a bad idea, cansel it! " No, she´s coming in less than 2 weeks, and I really want her. And that´s where he gave up. I just hate when he is in that negative mood, only seeing problems. He is often very skeptical to things I do, as long as it hasn´t with education and career to do. When I got pregnant at 21, and had moved out of home, he was furious. He said I would never make it, I wasn´t capable of taking care of a child. Well, not only was I capable of rasing her on my own, but to finish highschool, wich I had droped out of, and study to become a teacher. And now I have the most wonderful 15-year old daughter that my whole familiy loves and adores. Including my dad. Why do I even bother what he thinks? I feel in my heart that this puppy is a blessing, just like Ozzy. And I am a good enough dog- mommy, just as I was a good enough mom. So why does he gets to me? I want his approval, I guess. Pretty hopeless. Comments welcome! P.S. Be gentle with me! Love,
