OFF-TOPIC ... REINTRODUCING MYSELF (THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY)

Hello to all,

I'm reintroducing myself and 'Case Health - Health Success Stories' website.

My name is Cris Kerr and I've been administering the 'Case Health' website for the past four years. The site collects and shares health success stories (cure or improved quality of life) attributed to any treatment. Stories are added to the online database with keywords so visitors can search by symptom, condition, or treatment.

Why did I set up the site four years ago?

I admit to being indignant. It had been clear to me for a long time that too many people were suffering or passing away ... not because of illness but because of lack of knowledge ... and I was indignant at this injustice.

I knew the system was broken and I wanted to do something to fix it ... but how?

Along came 'the internet' - something I believe the history books will record as the greatest invention of all time because it unfetters and accelerates the sharing of knowledge which will lead to heightened understanding and discovery.

Okay you've probably guessed it. I'm one of THOSE people. You know the ones. All you wanted was someone to listen to your problem, then you made the mistake of telling one of THOSE people. Before you knew it they were in full flight asking questions and trying to help you find a solution when all you wanted was an 'ear'.

I confess to being one of THOSE people. I know we're annoying but in our defence ... it's because we like to help. We like to fix things that are broken. We like to look for solutions to unsolved problems.

Thankfully these days I'm more sensitive and aware (and hopefully less annoying). I've also channelled my energy into something that represents a positive and enduring contribution to the solution.

I created a site that shares information on what works on the understanding that every person has the right to access free-of-charge, information that may help improve their health.

I promote the 'Case Health' website because greater awareness = more stories = more pieces of the puzzle = more people helped.

Helping just one person can start a chain reaction. It's then up to that person to keep the chain going. I see what I do as contributing one part to the solution ... one piece of the puzzle at a time.

What do I get out of it?

It's natural and healthy to be wary of others and what they hope to gain. I have a family and I'm a mother of 3. We're all very lucky not to have experienced a severe health event but if that should change; I want to be well-informed and prepared. I'm no saint but I can assure you of this; I don't seek to profit from others' misery.

How can you contribute to the solution?

If you have a health success story and you want to help others, please share it through 'Case Health'. You can include a website URL link at the base of your story if it's relevant to the story or outcome.

If your story's already on the web there's a good reason to share it again through 'Case Health'.

The LDN story is an excellent example of the power of numbers. The collective is greater than the single. Whilst the evidence remains spread far and wide it cannot be measured and it cannot help build a compelling case.

A single health success story doesn't register on the public health radar. It is not considered evidence. A growing volume of related health success stories, however; builds a compelling body of evidence that can no longer be ignored.

The collective has a much louder voice. Collectively, LDN health success stories have provided sufficient evidence to advocate a clinical trial; the results of which could help many, many others.

I know my website's in need of some changes. The online story form takes time to fill out and the search function is frustratingly slow. My developer says I need to change from MS Access to MySQL to fix this. (It's on the drawing board.)

I sincerely thank those who've referred me to websites containing stories, but; much as I'd be happy to transverse the web to collect stories, I'm just one person and I just don't have the time. There's also the consideration of copyright. I can't copy stories without approval.

So, to contribute to the collective you can email your story direct to me. I'll add the keywords to facilitate database searches and I'll email you a copy of the final so you can approve it.

Happy for you to distribute this to other like-minded groups.

Questions?
