Guest guest
> Is anyone having problems with infections? Larry, As you may know, my hunny has HCV. He has had (and still has) a LOT of problems with infections even BEFORE he was diagnosed. that poor guy has been through more than he deserves--sigh. So I don't know if it has anything to do with the HCV but if it is any " comfort " at all, he's got the same problem. Or maybe we're all being paranoid! Hugs and have a great day... Guest guest
My son was just diagnosed with Hep C and has had infections for the last e years. If he bruises his leg it gets all swollen and red. He is a big, healthy fellow and not over weight . NO diabetes. We are still in shock over his diagnose. The Dr told him he will be tested on 3 months again as sometimes the tests are wrong. That seems sort of outdated to give a diagnose like that don't you think? She said there is a 50 percent chance the test could have read wrong. Boy If my son was not a grown man I would be on her case. In the meantime I have to keep a close eye on him as he gets depressed easily. Norma Happy Holidays -- Re: Infections??? > Is anyone having problems with infections? Guest guest
This subject came up between my Dr. and I just a few weeks ago. If I catch a cold or the flu, it almost always turns into a secondary infection and I end up needing antibiotics, or I just get real sick. My Dr. says my immune system is fighting the HCV all the time, and whenever I catch something else, I just can't fight the two off together. I caught a head cold a few weeks back, and the HCV took over. My liver and pancreas swelled up to the point they were painful, and it took me three weeks to recover from both problems. Because every time I get sick I get really sick, I can't work right now. I start treatment for HCV in about a month, and I'm hoping my immune system gets stronger. Over the last 6 months, I've been almost continuously sick. Not fun. WulfeMom Re: Infections??? My little girl has infections and rashes, I think more than other children. She had a rash that the pediatrician swore would go away and instead it got infected and turned into an abscess. I think that the immune system is compromised, to a point, and it needs extra vitamins, sleep, etc to stay as healthy as non infected people.
