Yogurt temp

When making yogurt in a machine (donvier yogurt maker) do you have to

heat the milk at all? (my milk is raw and grass fed)

Also, is it best to purchase a yogurt starter (culture?) or is it OK

to use a previous batch of yogurt as the starter? I also have pro-

biotic capsules - is it beneficial to put that in the batch?

Thanks,

Sherry

I also have raw strictly grass fed milk. I use a cooler with 110

degree water and submerg my quarts in it. I wouldn't think you have

to heat it up over the 110. Yogurt culture grows at the 100 to 110

so you would have to heat it to that temp. Yes you can use from the

previous batch with the probiotics already in it. I am not sure if

they are as strong or keep growing in the yougurt when reused. I

tried the capsules in it before But don't remember what it did.
