Congratulations, Jen! That is so awesome that you are gettting the

milk so close and SOOOOOOO cheap! The cheapest I've found here in

Texas is $5 a gallon. I like when I go up to my family in WI and

get it for $3.50.

As for the containers, I know a lot of people swear by the wide

mouth jars, but to me they are too difficult to pour. Yes, there is

always the option of keeping a smaller carafe or something to fill

and then use to pour, but it's a pain to have to pour from the wide

mouth into the other container. I just like using 1 container to

store & to pour.....then there's no more! (sorry...couldn't resist)

It's all a matter of personal preference. I also like that the jug

keeps the milk so nice and cold.

The biggest complaint I've ever heard about the glass jugs is

cleaning. Let me tell you that I have NEVER had a problem cleaning

them. As soon as I finish off a gallon, I make sure that I rinse

out the jar immediately with hot water. Then I put a little soap in

and fill with hot water. I do have a 2-inch long handled bottle

brush that I got at a horse tack shop (most Farm & Fleet type stores

have them) that I use to swish around in there, but I've never had a

problem keeping the jugs clean at all. And they are much easier to

pour right out of the fridge into your glass or whatever. Most of

the time I just shake the just around really good and then rinse.

We go through about 4-5 gallons a week. It's me, my hubby and my 17

month old daughter. We don't ever have too much unless we're gone

for a couple of days or so and don't take it with us. The neat

thing is that you can make different things with it so none has to

be wasted.

Congrats again! And I salute you with a toast! YUM!

Jen--

See, these wonderful souls are out there, they're just "laying low". Very Happy for you.

Just for kicks, be sure they check your neck again before you undergo the knife for no reason. The occasional Miracle has been known to happen on the RawMilk Diet..

Blessings,

You need to consider the prize a dairy pays the farmers for a gallon

of milk, too.

I now pay 10 Cents less for raw milk from a farm than I would pay for

the cheapest past/homo milk from a supermarket. But I know that the

dairies pay the farmers a lot less.

Dear

in Wisconsin,

I

think your point is well taken. What people who want raw milk most need to

consider is that unless you pay the farmers well, there will be no more raw

milk anywhere before long. Try buying a couple of acres of pasture, putting a

fence around it, getting a cow and taking care of it, and milking it once or

twice a day. Then see what you think a gallon of raw milk from a grassfed

animal is worth. You might try living on nothing else for a month or so,

watching all your medical problems disappear, and throwing away your medical

insurance, before deciding on that per gallon dollar value. I suspect at that

point that you’ll place it a bit above two bucks a gallon.
