A. The Following was posted by a CIH and a PE:

B. One notes:

1. The author posted it. This is self-interest-advertising. The author

did not declare this as such.

2. The author's company is a for-profit company. This is

self-interest-advertising. The author as a company officer did not declare

this as such.

C. One notes that the ABIH Code of Ethics states:

Conflict of interest and appearance of impropriety.

1. Disclose to clients or employers significant circumstances that could be

construed as a conflict of interest or an appearance of impropriety.

2. Avoid conduct that could cause a conflict of interest with a client,

employer, employee or the public.

3. Assure that a conflict of interest does not compromise legitimate

interests of a client, employer, employee or the public and does not

influence or interfere with professional judgments.

I clearly see a failure of 1 & 2 above.

D. One notes in the Illinois PE ethics code:

" When the licensee is acting as a consultant, expressing a professional

opinion, such opinion shall be prefaced by complete personal

identification as a consultant, without necessarily naming the

client. Such licensee shall reveal any personal interest in the matter. "

Personal interest?

" Licensees shall conscientiously avoid conflicts of interest with their

employers or clients. Whenever conflicts of interest appear

unavoidable, licensees shall disclose promptly to their employers or

clients any business association, interest or circumstance which may

influence judgment or quality of services. "

Disclosure?

" Licensees shall not falsify or permit misrepresentation of their, or their

associates', academic or professional qualifications. They shall not

misrepresent or exaggerate their degree of responsibility in or for the

subject matter of prior assignments. "

E. And the Nat Soc of Professional Engineers:

" Engineers shall not promote their own interest at the expense of the

dignity and integrity of the profession "

Personal interest?

" Engineers shall issue no statements, criticisms, or arguments on technical

matters that are inspired or paid for by interested parties, unless they

have prefaced their comments by explicitly identifying the interested

parties on whose behalf they are speaking, and by revealing the existence of

any interest the engineers may have in the matters. "

Revealing interest?

F. Perhaps this individual should stop these posts, or the non-CIHs and

Non-PEs can just blatantly advertise.
