Guest guest
CyFair and be a difficult district to work with if you have disagreements. If you can get into the Katy ISD, this might be a preferable choice. Do some homework before you make a final decision. See if you can visit the schools and ask questions. We did this before moving from one district to another in the Houston area. See what types of programs are available so you can compare. Ask about their self-contained classes if that might be an option for your child. Find out what their inclusion program is like. http://www.texasbest.com/schools/schools.html -- HOUSTON AREA SCHOOL DISTRICTS - has a clickable map, info on each school district, along with links to their websites. http://www.cfisd.net/aboutour/newcomer.htm -- newcomer packet from CyFair http://www.cfisd.net/dept2/curricu/speced/default.htm -- CyFair special ed http://schools.katyisd.org/groups/speced/index.htm -- Katy special ed http://www.katyisd.org/curriculum/special_ed.htm -- Katy special ed director Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi Aliza, I did a custom search for you and found these subdivisions zoned for Copeland (as long as the listing agent is correct): Copper Lakes, Wheatstone, Copperfield (probably only some sections), Lone Oak, ide. Hope that helps! Sharon --- Aliza Ratterree wrote: --------------------------------- I am trying to find the names of some subdivisions that might be zoned for Copeland. Any ideas? Guest guest
I'm in Copper Lakes, and am one of those who loves Copeland. They've been great to Connor, and the principal is wonderful. Keep that in mind: no matter where you choose, try to meet the principal. That is the person who sets the tone for the school! e Re: Moving to Houston area Hi Aliza, I did a custom search for you and found these subdivisions zoned for Copeland (as long as the listing agent is correct): Copper Lakes, Wheatstone, Copperfield (probably only some sections), Lone Oak, ide. Guest guest
Hi Aliza, I'm another parent of a child at Copeland Elem. In Sharon's message she gave Copper Lakes, Wheatstone, Lone Oak, and ide as subdivisions zoned to Copeland Elementary. The specific Copperfield subdivisions to add to that are: most of Copperfield Westcreek some parts of Copperfield Southcreek The school is actually located in Copperfield Westcreek. Guest guest
Hi Aliza, Yes, they truly have. I find that I am offered what I want before I can ask for it. Frequently, I see others on list discussing huge battles to get the same services our school insists my daughter have. My friend Ginger, whose daughter is AS and in 4th grade at Copeland, said at her first ARD there they gave her daughter everything Ginger had asked for - then gave her more. Do you have any specific questions about services? Sandi Houston
