Guest guest
http://www.autismlink.com Body Of Boy Found Near Where 9-Year-Old Was Missing POSTED: 10:11 am EST December 21, 2004 UPDATED: 10:28 am EST December 21, 2004 SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- A state forester discovered a boy's body about a mile-and-a-half from the home of a 9-year-old who disappeared Saturday, a state Bureau of Forestry manager said Tuesday. Logan Mitcheltree was last seen around 4:15 p.m. Saturday wearing a long-sleeved shirt, slippers and pants, but no jacket. His siblings told police he had been watching TV with them before they noticed him missing. The body was found shortly after 8 a.m. on a leaf-covered forest road, said state Bureau of Forestry manager S. Prowant. " It's fairly certain that it is confirmed that it is Logan, " he told The Associated Press. Extremely cold temperatures left officials hoping that Logan might have found shelter in a storm drain, shed or some other safe hiding place. South port Mayor R. said searchers knew the boy's chances of survival were slim in the bitter cold. " As the hours went on, and the temperature went down, we knew the chances were slimmer and slimmer. " Several hundred searchers were immediately told to turn in identification badges and go home as law-enforcement authorities were meeting behind closed doors. The coroner's office said a body had been found but cautioned that it had not been positively identified. Beginning Saturday, searchers with dogs or in small, fixed-wing planes and helicopters combed a three square-mile area of the town, woods, and mountains in the area, which is about 65 miles north of burg. The body was apparently located on the edge of the search area. Logan's mother told officials that Logan is hyperactive and has a mental state of a 3-year-old, Police Chief Rexford Lowmiller said. An aunt told a reporter he has a limited ability to speak and communicates in part through sign language, but declined to discuss the boy's medical condition. Authorities on Sunday had described him as autistic.

Guest guest
>Carol (Logan's mom) Just lost her husband a few months ago< I write this with tears as I'm sure we all have shed some because of the tragic loss of this precious boy with autism. It is most of our greatest fear. Do you know how Carol is coping? What ages are the siblings and how are they doing? Do you have an address for those of us who want to send our condolence? Carlson.
