Guest guest
Keep going ! You're doing great and you'll see the results you want if you don't give up. I've felt a little down too because I don't notice anything! That's why I had to stop myself from looking and just concentrate on being consistant with workouts. I've got problems with my eating too, To sat the least!*LOL That's something you've got to take one bite at a time. I know that sounds goofey but if you think about it, it's not such a bad idea. For an example: Say you were going nuts wanting sweets so you get a big piece of cake,(hmmm...cake that sounds good!) Anyway, you're eating the cake , if you really pay attention to your senses & your body, after a few bites, your craving should be taken care of. If you can take the remainder of that treat and NOT finish it, that counts as progress! I know this isn't too helpful but it's something I thought about while I was eating Pepperidge Farms cookies.*HEE,HEE* I noticed that not only did I crave the taste, but that after a few I was satistfied but I still felt complelled to stuff myself with more? I think it's that feeling of better eat them while they're here!*LOL* Anyway, I caught myself and I managed to get rid of those guys! I didn't feel as bad afterwards either because I just had a few. Oh well, I wish I could help! Judie who's trying to find that line between depriving yourself and being sensible. --- Randy & wrote: > The good: > I've done taebo for 2 weeks straight! I wanted it all gone yesterday, but today is here and I know I have to be prepared for it to take longer. remember one day at a time, one step at a time and one goal at a time. Yep, and keep in mind that the muscle you're building now is a calorie burning machine! I know it's hard, but try to take the focus of your workout away from doing it to lose weight, to doing it because you want to get better at it..higher kicks, more reps, greater strength. The weight seems to leave when you aren't paying attention to it..kind of like a cranky kid throwing a tamtrum. > > The Ugly: > The unwanted pounds! I need some motivation on eating. I want it off > quick! I know you can't tell! :> I have got to get my eating under control! > Any suggestions/reccommendations would be greatly appreciated! Barb can answer this better than I can..but I'll give it a shot..Increase your water consumption, don't have empty calorie foods sitting around the house that will tempt you. Eat foods high in fiber that will keep you from feeling hungry. Don't decrease your calories too fast, just make better choices in food..high fiber low fat..stock up on veggies and fruits. Try flax oil, it keeps your body feeling satiated. When you crave something wait ten minutes, the craving might pass...if you think your eating just from boredom find something to take your mind off of it...if it persists eat it..but slowly enjoying it and just have a small portion. Otherwise you try to substitute what you are craving with something else, you might not be satisified and end up eating twice as much of something that doesn't satisfy you. Start checking your diet for empty calories and begin eliminating them. Give yourself an off day..like once a week..where you eat whatever you like..and don't beat yourself up over it. Well, that's a start..hope it helps! > > Well I am going to go make myself at least do the basic. I would hate to > come this far on the 21 day challenge and mess it up! Good for you! The disipline that you develope by doing the workout when you don't feel like it will take you far! I get some of my best workouts in on days that I would rather be doing something else. Hope this helps! Once you get the eating under control you look back and wonder why it seemed so difficult to begin with, it really is a lifestyle change and you shouldn't feel deprived at all...in fact volume wise with the proper food you will probably be eating more than you are now. Guest guest
Gee Judy! That;s exactly what I taught in Weigh Down workshop for 2 1/2 years! lol! Nothing like having it thrown back in my face! lol! I know what to do. It's a matter of wanting it to be easy and the weight to disappear overnight! Couldn't someone just wire my jaws shut!?!?! lol! It would make it easier! When I was in WDW, I lost 60 pounds and still enjoyed the food that I liked. I had chocolate all the time. For some reason I don't want to stop sometimes... ok a lot of times! lol! WDW teaches you to eat when hungry and stop when full and eat whatever your body is craving. It really does work if you are willing to do it. Gosh I told that to my classes sSOOOOOOO many times! lol Have a great day! >For an example: Say you were going nuts wanting sweets so >you get a big piece of cake,(hmmm...cake that sounds good!) > >Anyway, you're eating the cake , if you really pay >attention to your senses & your body, after a few bites, >your craving should be taken care of. >If you can take the remainder of that treat and NOT finish >it, that counts as progress! >I know this isn't too helpful but it's something I thought >about while I was eating Pepperidge Farms cookies.*HEE,HEE* > >I noticed that not only did I crave the taste, but that >after a few I was satistfied but I still felt complelled to >stuff myself with more? Guest guest
Burn baby burn! lol! It;s kind of hard sometimes not to focus on the weight and how you look when you're clothes feel tighter and uncomfortable! This time of year doesn't help either! lol! I was also hired to be a waitress at a steakhouse a couple of days ago! They wear shorts or jeans and they line dance! At 34, I am one of the oldest! I haven't worked in 5 years! I am not seriously overweight, at least according to WW. They say I only need to lose 15 pounds! I like them! lol! But I know me and I know what I should weigh and I need to lose more than 15 pounds! But that's a good beginning goal! I like the cranky kid part! So true! I guess this means if I tune out my weight and appearance like I do hubby & kids when I want to ignore them then I will be fine! lol! Thanks for the encouragement ! > >Yep, and keep in mind that the muscle you're building now is a >calorie burning machine!
