a we paid for the anesthesia and filed it under medical claims. The

anesthesia was a piece of cake for my Mason. The anesthesiologist came in

an introduced himself to Mason, gave him a little shot in his thigh. Within

30 sec. Mason was asleep in my arms. My dentist gave Mason, what she calls

the 10,000 mile check up. Put sealants on filled a few cavities and shaved

down some teeth that where coming in a little crooked. Absolutely no

problems. Mason slept for about 4 hours afterwards and acted a little

" drunk " for a hour or so after that, but basically non-eventful. I am very

thankful when that happens!!!!

Good-luck. Love, Liz

a,

My understanding is that it works just the way you described. We had

to consider that with one of my children (fortunately we didn't end

up needing to do it), but our pediatric dentist (who also specializes

in special needs kids) said that the medical insurance covers the

anesthesia and use of the hospital (we would have had ours done at

the local children's hospital) and the dental insurance covers the

rest...and the dentists office helps with the coordination of it all.

I do have a friend whose son has had to do this numerous times, and

that is always how it works for her.

Hope this helps...
