Guest guest
Hey , Yikes yikes yikes! Wait! First and foremost, your little guy needs to develop some dairy-loving bacteria in his system. That's probably why he threw up--his system was not ready. Starting autistic children out on raw milk and milk kefir is not recommended. Their intestines are not equipped yet. There is a terrific nutritionist named Donna Gates at www.bodyecologydiet.com that has a high success rate with curing autistic children that I want to recommend to you. It is WORTH it to spend the money for an hour consultation with her. Take a look at her website. Basically, her premise is that autism is perpetuated/caused by leaky gut syndrome, common to almost all autistic children. Leaky gut syndrome is where there are lacerations in the intestinal wall, caused from a vareity of things, leaking toxins out into the body cavity and bloodstream, thusly ccontributing to autistic problems in the brain. The way to heal leaky gut is with introducing beneficial bacteria into the system. Gluten and casein free diets (gf/cf) are necessary as well, but the gf/cf diet is not enough. You must also get the child off of sugar and carbs. And you must add is what is known as kefir to heal the gut. I say kefir, but not dairy kefir. Donna has invented something called coconut kefir. It is made from young green coconuts and it will introduce dairy-loving bacteria into his gut over time, and THEN he will be able to handle raw dairy. Depending on the child's system, it can sometimes take up to 6 months to a year of coconut kefir before they are ready for dairy. She has a whole section on her website devoted to how to make it, pics and everything. I do not have an autistic child, but we still drink coconut kefir all the time just because we love it. It's another fun drink to add to our regimen. I get my young green coconuts from a latino grocery store in Nashville (not Wild Oats or Whole Foods as they charge WAY too much.) And I use my kefir grains to make it. It's a mahvelous thing. If you absolutely cannot find young green coconuts in your area, I recommend www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com for some flash pasteurized coconut packs as well as their kefir starter. Keep the juice somewhere warm while it's...kefiring...and it will be ready a lot faster than they say at WFN. If you need help call me at . Personally, I use kefir grains all the time. I make raw milk kefir and my little ones love it. We make all sorts of things with it, including cheese, etc. Our favorite is a grape juice/kefir/cinnamon drink called "The Butterfly." A good website to learn about kefir is http://users.chariot.net.au/~dna/kefirpage.html . If you need it, I can send you some free kefir grains as well. Guest guest
Hey , I would be happy to send you some grains. Contact me off-list and we can swap addresses and such. Overnight is best for the grains, and that is pretty expensive. Not too bad, though. Depends on where you live and it can be sent standard overnight or priority overnight. Talk to you soon. mvp19992002 wrote: I am sorry , I didn't mean to scare you. We have been on many treatments the past 2 1/2 years... GFCF, SCD, Yeast Free, many supplements etc. No major improvements yet. is basically a carbohydrate addict. He hardly eat anything (obsesses on Rice Milk- not good. We have had him on a few essential supplements (probiotics, colostrum, cod liver oil) that Donna Gates is talking about for about a year now...but I will look into her diet further. Thank you for your reply and advice. PS>.. he is doing really good today..?? Could we get some of your kefir grains? That would be wonderful. > > > Hello, I am a mom of 4, who was vaccine injured. Guest guest
Hey Jill, The coconut kefir is only slightly sweet and also slightly bubbly. Reminds me of champagne. AND you can scoop out the soft coconut meat and ferment it to make pudding as well. Bonus. The trickiest part is knowing when you have opened up one that is too old, as the water is not yellowish, but slightly pink. The meat inside of a rotten one will also be too slimy and soft, kind of clear. All you need to open them up is a soft mallet hammer and a meat cleaver. You'll see what I mean when you look at the www.bodyecologydiet.com website. And I could help you if you need any guidance. It's always good to talk to someone who's actually done it before. jill1313 wrote: , I think I may have the same problem, as though the raw colostrum (cow) had some properties that I *knew* were great for me, my digestive system could not handle it. Guest guest
Hi , I went on the Dom's site and read some of it (it is huge) but still have a question. You say you are using kefir grains all the time, but, if I get the grains somewhere do I HAVE to use it all the time? How can I keep them alive if I want to make a break say for a month? Will the grains die? I'm hopelessly green about this kefir making adventure I'm a new member but I did introduce myself after joining. Barbara Personally, I use kefir grains all the time.
