Guest guest
The shots in my head lasts a couple of monthswhich may not sound like much but when I can go months with very few migraines it is worth it to me!!! Hugs! DebbieG ________________________________ Debbie, this is the first I've heard of these shots and I must admit it kind of scares me! I've never heard of this before. How long do the shots last, are there side effects and is it very expensive?
Guest guest
Thanks Chris! DebbieG ________________________________ Debbie, don't worry about it! When I joined this group I decided that this would be the one place where I would not apologize for my spelling. I'm sure most people here understand! Guest guest
Hi Deb When I got sick, reading books and good spelling went out the window. I stopped apologizing and accepted it as part of the 'new' me. So know that we understand and it just makes even you closer to the group. Guest guest
Whenever I'm doing well, my husband is right there saying " take it easy, don't do too much, etc etc " . He does understand, though, that sometimes I NEED to overdo it from an emotional and mental perspective even if it makes me crash physically. I also manipulate myself when we take a rare vacation by taking more pain meds and provigil so that I can do more while on vacation and we both expect me to pay for it in the weeks after - but it is worth it! Guest guest
I have always loved to read but find it more and more difficult. I have switched over almost entirely to audio books and I just love them. I do get distracted sometimes (ok, a lot of times) but I just rewind until I recognize things and listen from there. I've been a member of audible.com for years now and on my plan, I pay 19.99 a month and get two books each month. They also run specials pretty frequently. My local public library recently started a program where you can " borrow " audio books. When they get their " stock " up, I'll quit audible and go free! I have an iphone and use it for my audio books. I've had the ability to play my audio books on several of my cell phones. Guest guest
URSULA, I found the same problem with my memory-spelling-math-ect.... how I did manage it was--please do not laugh-- I played video games--I only concentrated on the game at hand something simple like tetris/shapes. I couldn't understand why this helped me to concentrate better but my Doctor says it is really just like biofeedback. Interesting how we find ways to adapt. I was always a huge reader and found it frustrating when I would go back to finish a chapter and could not remember anything I had read. I know my fog well enough to know when and when I cannot read a novel.. Plus I am writing a book now=probably take me forever..... Guest guest
Margie, I can't believe it! You sound just like my Husband and I. He is very aware of how I am feeling just by looking at me. It's weird, but most people look at me like I'm just fine. He knows when I am hurting. I also take more pain medication in order to make it through a vacation or other special event. The payback afterwards is terrible and sometimes I get so completely exhausted that I have to quit. It's nice to hear someone else goes through this. a ________________________________ Whenever I'm doing well, my husband is right there saying " take it easy, don't do too much, etc etc " . Guest guest
Amen Margie and a - it took a LOT of years, but my hubby has finally accepted my limitations and now is telling me to do the same: " slow it down Jane " or " take a break! " . Thank God, because it wasn't so early on (about the first 8 years after diagnosis of CFS and FM). We do what we have to do, we must choose what is " worth " the crash afterwards. Hang in there everyone! STL Jane > > Margie, > > I can't believe it! You sound just like my Husband and I. He is very aware of how I am feeling just by looking at me. Guest guest
My husband is very cautious as to what he lets me do, he worries about the payback because if feel good I ussually overdo.
