Hi I think I've found a good doc. in San . I'll let you all know after my first appointment, but he tested for adrenial fatigue, put my daughter on t-4 that was componded..and says I have very low vit. d. Has anyone heard of vit. d 3? he wants to put me on that. He said vit. D1 and 2 wouldn't work only 3 for me since my levels were so low. I thought vit. d was vit. d. Does anyone have a clue?

Did he test for the free Ts or just TSH? Does he prescribe Armour? T4 only doesn't sound so good.

As for Vit D, go to mercola's website, he talks a lot about it, pretty intelligently, I think.

Yup, Vitamin D-3 is the one you need when you are supplementing like that. I was on prescription compounded Vitamin D 50,000 IU twice a month a couple years ago when I was seeing an endo. Stopped seeing him and taking the Vitamin D, but I've not had any low test results since then.

vit. d 3?

Vitamin D3 is the one you need. Many of the pills are D2 and the body does not assimilate that as well. My husband was given a medical dose (prescription only) of 50,000 units for four weeks, then 50,000 units once a month for six months to bring his low Vitamin D up. I take 2,000 units a day.
