Guest guest
That’s me the chicken farmer J. Chickens don’t like to ride in cars with their heads out the window –they see all those fried chicken places! Gail raises German Shepherds. I used to breed Samoyeds & have always had dogs about.Couldn’t imagine life without one. That seems extreme what your daughter was told however there is a risk of the dog getting hit or stung by type of insect.Dust –any kind of flying scud could get into eyes, noses & ears on some breeds if they ride with head out of the window or in the back of a pickup.Where you are driving would play a part in the decision.I prefer to keep the dog safe inside the vehicle with lots of air circulation but not able to stick their complete head out.Slow speed on a back country road would be a safer place to let the pooch hang lose.It is unsafe & ( illegal here) to have them lose or tied with a leash in the back of a pickup. Many tragic deaths happen when they get flung out of the truck after a sudden stop.
