Guest guest
Lynelle... my husband and I had ours done...but not until AFTER we got a second unusual chromosomal anamoly... Usually its just a fluke, but I'm sure they wouldn't deny you since you do have a child with MDS. They'll also monitor your future pregnancies much more closely, and will usually offer you the chance to have an amniocentisis, etc. ~ANGEL~ Mom to 11 Mosaic Down Syndrome/Hirschsprung's Disease Lance 16, Tyler 12, 9 Jaeda 8 & Shayne
Guest guest
I never did any other genetic testing. I allowed the OB/Gyn to do a high level sono on the last 2. I am of the belief that God gives you what you can handle. Obviously God thinks that I enjoy being morning sick and having a saggy belly and boobs!! Nat, eventhough he has the most " problems " , is my easiest child. Hopefully my input helps. We are thinking about having additional genetic counseling/testing before ttc. Has anyone had additional testing done? Guest guest
My husband and I had testing right after we found out that Tyler has MTDS, since Tyler has translocation as well as the mosaicism. It was just a blood test to look at our chromosomes. The geneticist told me that around 1/3 of the time with translocation a parent could be a carrier. We did not plan on having any more children but we wanted to know since my sister-in-law was expecting her first child. It came back the neither one of us is a carrier.
