Guest guest
I went to Israel to spend a couple of weeks over the holidays with my daughter, her husband, and their two children who live in Tel-Aviv. Over the last year and a half, since I did the School in August 2002, my daughter has noticed the changes in me (more serene, glowing, flowing, etc) and become interested in theWork - I've shared a video, tapes, books, and done a couple of sessions with her (this really touches me). So the idea of a mini-workshop arose naturally - I've been going to Israel for decades and for some reason so far avoided offering workshops there, though I do run a variety of workshops in England and France, but this time (and stuff) felt right. I phoned a couple of friends I thought might be interested and also posted a little announcement on the three LWI yahoo sites I belong to (this was four days before the set date). Amazingly I got a mail/call from A. who lives locally and had learned a bit about the work in India, and had been practising with a small group. So I did my first theWork workshop. Four people (daughter, her husband, A., and O. (my friend, also a therapist). I did lots of handouts for them - worksheets, intro to the work, 3-businesses, etc) and also provided a pen and a file in pretty colours to put them in (they loved that!). I had a plan (heeeeheeee) which I will post to the files section on the Work in Groups yahoo site. We had four hours together. Originally I planned to charge 50 shekels (about 10 dollars) to cover costs. Then I couldn't charge my daughter or her husband. Then I couldn't charge my friend. Then I couldn't charge A. who ended up providing the lovely space to meet. Then I felt they gave me such a gift by coming, anyway, that I would have been happy to pay them! We all wanted to do more. So we arranged another meeting a few days later, and opened it to more people. We would have had eight but my son-in-law didn't feel well (?) ( he asked for homework the next day which touched my heart deeply). This was so thrilling. I have decided to return there in April/ May (probably) to do another, more public, and longer workshop or two. This feels such an organic process, an each-one-reach-one thing, with perfect timing. Anyone else in Israel? I'm booked to do a series in London, in February, April, June and September, possibly around themes such as Family, Aging, Friends, (all my own themes!).... and am trying to find a date in late Aug/early Sept to do a longer one in the French Pyrenees, maybe spanning two weekends, maybe in tandem with a Grape-Fast, in a most beautiful place, maybe with the feel of some vision-questing......... well, the whole enterprise is like a vision quest in a way, and how exciting..... It's a wonderful world.......... Namaste, Tamara
