GAP diet

I received my GAP book yesterday and stayed up late to read it. I have

a few questions and am wondering if any seasoned and more rested

brains can answer a few questions.

1. Is there a timeline that I missed? At one point she said allergies

can be resolved in 4-6 weeks. And in another she said to give ghee

only for 6 months. 6 months??? For a little patch of eczema?

2. Is my son " supposed " to stay off of starches for ever?

3. Is such a drastic measure necessary? I truly want my son to be

healthy and to not have to have eczema or food sensitivities. That

said, I am concerned about having to turn our lives upside down and

ostracize my son for such a long period of time.

I guess you need a little background to appreciate where I am coming

from. My mom struggled with health issues (until quite recently) and I

was on every and I mean EVERY health diet except for the NT diet that

is. It was very ostracizing to be the only child in a small town

elementary school with a spinach salad. I am not wanting to give my

children Lunchables or school lunch to fit in, but I would like to

send them nourishing whole " normal " food and let them eat gross " food "

at family events and friends' birthday parties.

My son's health is more important to me than anything, but I feel I

must take into consideration his emotional health as well. Taking his

emotional health into consideration would mean the family would have

to go on the diet (my son is 5 next month) and I don't think that will

go over well with my dear husband who is skeptical. Please don't think

poorly of my husband. He is a peach and has been coming around with

all the special yogurt commercials for better digestion on TV and the

poop transplant article. But to ask him to adopt a diet that he is

skeptical about for a little patch of eczema that disappears with diet

changes for a half to full year may be to much!

Any thoughts and words of wisdom would be appreciated.

Blessings,
