Thanks, Mike. I'm going to try very hard to control the panic that keeps trying to take over at this point. I had a bout with kidney stones in Sept-Oct that included 2 surgeries because the pain wouldn't quit. It still won't quit & the stones are gone. So I was already dealing with medical issues & was pretty worn down when I got the news.

Thanks. I realize I'll have to decide about treatment after I get the BX results this week. It's not just research anymore. It's real! Whether treatment time is now or not, I'll have more than enough to focus on without worrying about Semi's personal roller coaster. He'll see me making the lifstyle changes you mentioned and he'll either want what I have or he'll go his own way. His choice, I can't make him want to be better. It will be the same way I share my faith in God with him now -- by example, not words.

Faith is the ability to not panic.

Glad BX went well. For me. that was the point I knew I would have to let go and let others take control of that aspect of my life. The procedure, the timing, results etc.

Semi- boy friend: HCV is chronic, many in this group have had the virus for decades. If I had known the facts thirty years ago, I would like to think I would have changed my lifestyle. I don't think I would have sought Tx., believing I was going to be one of the lucky ones that the virus would not cause significant problems. No one was going to tell me what was right for me. Unfortunately the more people tried to convince me I needed to do something, the more I dug my heals in.

Perhaps modeling a change in eating habits, exercise, stress management and cultivating positive friends will slowly chip away "Semis" defenses. Anyway your path will become clear soon and won't be focusing on his ups and downs. Mike

I have been undetectable this coming March, for 5 years. My bloodwork shows that I have hep c but it is undetectable meaning the virus is no longer active. That is why I can't give blood cause the virus is there, but not active. It can't breed and multiply anymore, but there might even be just one cell left of the virus.I don't have to worry about it becoming active again, but I will always show that I have hep c, Right now that is as close as we can get to a cure.
