Guest guest
Hi Jan, I have been on many anti-inflammatories that have ended up causing lots of stomach problems for me. Bextra has been very good for me in that respect. I have been on it for over a year now with no side effects. As far as helping my condition, as a maintenance medicine I think it does help control some of the pain due to arthritis that I have since the accident. Guest guest
The Bextra does sound like about the best one. My chiro told me to go to the dr. for a cortisone shot for my hip bursitis inflammation which isn't much better after months. So I dropped by the dr's. office on my way home from the chiro today to get a shot. They said my dr doesn't give those shots. But the other drs in that office do but only for knee & shoulder bursitis, not for hips, & only for their own patients. So they tried to just sluff me off & leave it at that & not even suggest I see my doctor for an alternative. But I insisted they refer me to someone who could give me a shot. So the nurse said she'd call around & ask & get back to me on it. Well, I didn't get any shot today but thought it would be just as easy as walking into my dr's office & asking for one, as the chiro made it sound like all drs here give them just as mine did back in San for severe hives I've had a couple of times when I just walked into her clinic. But this dr., a clinic too, doesn't give them for anything. I thought clinics were there for walk-ins for semi-emergencies too. They always were in San . This is just the pits here! I may need to switch doctors. I hate that though as I've had to change primary care physicians so many times in the past years. Oh well, if I find one that gives cortisone shots only in extreme emergencies for stuff like this hip bursitis, I may change to that one. Wish me well on this folks. I've been in way too much pain with this for far too long & not taking any Rx meds for it either as the dr. never suggested I do. Heck, she never even said I had bursitis when I complained my hip hurt so badly a couple of months ago. It was the chiropractor who said I did. So who needs her anyway? Guest guest
Hi Guys, Just a little interjection here. I have taken Celebrax, Vioxx and Bextra. By far the Bextra is my arthritis drug of choice. It is a miricle drug as far as I am concerned. Great pain relief for my hands. They have arthritis the worst of any part of my body. Don't get me wrong, it has not given complete control of the pain...it is much duller. Guess that is a good way to discribe it. The pain is always there, it's just the different degrees. donna
