Guest guest
Cheri, I would wager that you are losing far more than you think you are. How are your clothes fitting? Are you shrinking but the scales aren't showing tons of weight gone? That is quite common. For some unexplainable reason, we get smaller without the scale reflecting that loss. Weighing once per month is the best way to go though this, by the way. People who weigh daily become so frustrated when the scale doesn't move down on any particular day. Continue to do as you are, and things will be fine. Not everyone drops 150 pounds in 2 months. Who was it on this list that lost 216 pounds in 3 months? The rest of us wanted to kill him. Of course, he was up near 600 pounds when he started. Mel, When that pani goes, you'll see a HUGE difference!!! Trust your elder brother here. One simply cannot comprehend the change that will be evident unless one has lost a huge pani as you and I have/had. Be prepared for everything you own being too large by many sizes! I want pictures, by the way! Jim _____ From: MDL1031@... Thanks for your help. Cheri __________________________ Cheri, In my case I had so much to lose the first amount of weight was a drop in the bucket....So I knew in my head I was losing but seeing it in myself was different. I still look at myself in windows and glass doors and think that I look huge sometimes then others I think...God! You look better...LOL. I'm hoping the pannie will be a big ego boost. I look down at my pannie and wonder how it will affect me when it isn't there. It has never not been there. So yeah Dr K says he can fix our bodies, but the brain is our problem to feal with...LOL. Your not alone.

I look at myself and think I will look out of proportion or weird because of it, then I look at other pannies and wonder if they wondered the same thing. On the other hand I'm worried that I will be dissappointed by the results. Did you have these kind of feelings pre op? How about anyone else? I didn't feel that way with the Ds. I'm kind of excited and then kind of anxious. I guess the anxiety is wondering wether this is the right thing to do, a question I had no doubt of with the Ds....LOL. Who knows, guess I could try a baby pillow and see if that works..lol Pat > > > >
Guest guest
No, I didn't have those feelings. I did have the feelings of " What on earth will I look like with out this thing, " though. I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed, but I didn't know what to expect, either. The pani removal is the most drastic and instantaneous change that will happen. As we lose the weight, we do it gradually, and sort of adjust to the way we look, somewhat. However, when we wake up after the pani removal, it is a HUGE change that we had in an INSTANT (because we were asleep). We go to sleep looking one way, and wake up looking completely different. It's something that cannot be understood until you've gone though it. I imagine that it would be like waking up one morning and having your arm gone. The shock and the suddenness of it is what you need to be expecting. I wish I had thought to ask MORE questions before the pani removal, though. Doc said he would do a lot of lipo, and t hen he didn't so I was disappointed when I finally came out of all the drugs. Just make sure to ask a ton of questions and find out EXACTLY what the doctor will do and what he is NOT going to do.
