Guest guest
Just thought I would say that my son is 27 and still has 1 baby tooth. He still has not gotten any wisdom teeth either and may never get them. Any thing goes I guess. wrote: Hi,I had a question about teething. My son with DS just turned two and has been getting all his teeth at the typical times, not delayed or in a different order. I thought it was taking forever for his molars to come in. I finally caught a peek and he is getting a 3rd molar on top (both sides). I think this is the 6 year molar.I"m trying to get an appt with a dentist soon though I know it will be difficult as he does not open his mouth when you ask him to and does not like to sit still:)! Has anyone had teeth come in early? Thanks for your help!
Guest guest
I was 38 years old and still had a baby tooth. Since then I was eating a baby carrot and when I bit down on the carrot, it shattered my baby tooth. It was a Friday night!! Dentist on called told me to take tylenol and see my dentist on Monday morning. He also said if I was in to much pain over the weekend to call him and he would open his office up and take it out. My mom also had a baby tooth that never came out. With both of us, there never was an adult tooth to replace the baby one. So far my 2 oldest kids lost all their baby teeth and now I'm waiting to see if my 2 youngest ones will. Guess it's genetic since it happened to my mom and myself. Guest guest
is three. She cut her molars first. at 18 months. She is missing some of her teeth on the bottom. I need to get her into a dentist this summer/fall. I am told that anything" goes for the most part with DS and Teeth. oddly.. my aunt who is in her 50s.. has a extra set of adult teeth in her gums. Guest guest
In this pic you can see a small space at the bottom of this brilliant smile She has one just like it on the other side. Its like her bottom canines or the bi cupids or whatever is next to the bottom incisors. Guest guest
Hello . My son is 14 months old and I recently consulted with a pediatric dentist regarding my son's lack of ANY teeth. He told me that it is very common for DS children to have delayed or abnormal tooth eruption patterns. He also told me that it is not unusual for the shape DS teeth be different than that of non-DS children. Our dentist took x-rays of my son's mouth and was able to tell me that he a.) had all of his teeth; and b.) that it would likely be another 6 months to a year before he got any teeth. In my reading about thyroid function, I understand that this can also have a significant impact on permanent tooth development patterns. Recently, I read that it is not if your DS child has problems with the thyroid but when. So, to answer your question, I don't know either. Good Luck!!!
