I had nerve blocks too and didn't get any relief from them. I finally got relief when my new CP doc went in and burnt the nerves out. On one of my nerve blocks, my old doc missed his mark - he was supposed to be blocking at the base of my skull on the left side of my head. I ended up with a golf ball sized lump on my head that didn't go down for about four days. I have short hair, so there was no way to hide the thing. It looked quite bizarre. <grin> -- Lyndi
Guest guest
Hi Cherie, Wow...nerve blocks are expensive! I could not believe how much they charge. My pain doc is in my insurance company's network but his surgery center isn't (which doesn't make any sense to me). Therefore...my insurance company has to pay the entire amount he charges for the nerve blocks! Kay
Guest guest
Hello: I have but a few suggestions. One the injections can be added to it BOTTOM. My Pain Management Doctors suggested that we try that as if it works in the facial and other places on the human visual spots, that it had been studied to enhance the Injections. It is something that has made my pain issues and the medications work in tandem and I FIND THAT THE procedure lasts at least a month or more than the straight Steroids. Do your Doctors put you out a little while which helps you to sleep for a good 24 hr., and total bed rest as long as you can (1-3 days) Also..using a heat pack or heating pad after the time spent resting enhances the results? Be sure to stretch each day. I have had Lumbar pain for at least 10-12 years. It took quite a while until I found a good Team of MD. Who Specialize in pain management/, referred to me by my Neurosurgeon. I also have implanted in my left buttock (just beneath the skin on the buttock area just below the waist, that is where they implant the battery pack. Also they attach it to a ligament of the back ligament. I don'tknow where you reside but they are in Beverly Hills, CA. the team name is Phoenix Pain Management. Email me for any other tidbits about your specific issues. Blessings. Sincerely, Alice \email wseone56@... Torrance, CA.
