Best to everyone - Nick __________________________________________________--- My thoughts on this Was... that maybe at the waning end of our window, Maybe we can prolong it a little as our bodies adjust to the new plumbing and losses slow. I have spoken to so many whose common channel lengthens to adapt for less malabsorption. So instead of lessening the common channel and risking the possible chances of malnutrition that would have to be surgically risky, Maybe try the xenical and see if a little additional malabsorption helps? There are so many on the revision boards who are trying to get the common channel shortened or making the gastric bypass distal. Why not try the Xenical instead of surgery in these cases? Guest guest
I do lurk on this list occasionally, and tonite was one of those nights. Xenical was on my list of weight loss drugs for many months (long before my DS). Like the DS, oil slicks are the order of the day should one consume too much fat. The oil that is expelled is identical in color, etc., to what we have with the DS. The body seems to adjust to the Xenical and " mix " the oil with the rest of the " stuff " after a time. I have noted that I can eat more fat with a diminished oil problem so I wonder if our newly redesigned digestive system doesn't adapt to this a bit, much like Xenical. It's always nice to know your still a kickin! Absolutely our digestive system adapts. The bowel will acutally enlarge it's circumference, creating more surface to absorb from. Of course we never have the same ability to absorb as before, but adapt we do. Jo Hey Nick are you and going to be able to make it to the Pool party this year? August 8th. (sunday before the support meeting)...I sure hope so.
