Guest guest
The flylady idea seems to be great...but what is it? Everyone seems to know what it is. I'm up for anything that makes housework fun. Nadine

Guest guest
Nadine, Check out her website: www.flylady.com I'll warn you, should you join, she sends out lots of emails each day. All you have to do at the beginning is read the titles and delete them, unless you want to read them, that is. She proposes 'baby steps' to making changes in your life, and she has a good method of accomplishing all of it. I felt like someone took me by the hand and said, " see, this is how you can do it. " I was able to avoid becoming compulsive over it, and I have stopped and started many times - another of her mottos is, " you don't have to catch up, just jump in wherever you are. " She helps you overcome perfectionist tendencies too. Some of the references, especially in the testamonials are Christian based. I'm still working out my religious/spiritual stuff, so I take from this what I can, and leave the rest. And - the feather dusters are really awesome!!! LOL!!! Take care, Sylvia > > The flylady idea seems to be great...but what is it? Everyone seems > to know what it is. Guest guest
I can be a flylady LOL!!!! Example if you have children, lable them each a laundry basket, then simply do each load of their clothing seprately, it saves time, you are organized and never get those socks mixed up! If your children are old enough they get to put their own clothes away, and I have learned to let go of being really complusive about them making sure they do not wrinkle anything, or mix up the matched clothes LOL-I know that it sounds like it doesn't save time, but with me it does, AND I HATE WASHING CLOTHES! I am obsessive about clothes being washed, though I have given a lot of it up on a daily basis. I used to wash 5 loads daily (nobody but me/daughter ever uses a towel more than once ugggghhh)...I have taught the children to hang up towels after use, and that *I* will wash them when I think they need washing....MY CHILDREN + husband still (minus my daughter who does do this) throw the towels on floor, or throw into laundry basket..... At the moment I am washing away, I have husband carry the laudry upstairs on weekends, unless the baskets are not to full.... I really hate to organize, my MIL is compulsive about organization, she get's on me about it, and then I HAVE to do something wild and crazy like rip closets apart, re-organize etc....Oh and today is HALLOWEEN- So now I wil become a cazy obsessed woman cleaning up as much as I can since the neighbors just LOVE to come in and check the place out- PUKE! Then again, there is only so much I can physcially do, so I will stick to the kitchen, foyer, and office (I don't care about living room) since it is usually clean......To top it off, I don't actually care if toys are thrown all over the place, kiddos need to play, a house that is to perfect flips me out =) I like to see a " lived " in home, makes it more REAL.... ~Kim(berley)

Hi Nadine, Those of us KOs whose nadas who didn't know appreciate cleanliness have had a tough uphill battle learning how to schedule and do stuff around the house. Fortunately, there's FlyLady. FlyLady helps us disorganized KOs get organized. For example, the first thing a KO can do is start with cleaning the kitchen sink. FlyLady is good but I can only take so much of her. FlyLady's URL is: http://www.flylady.net/ - Edith
