Guest guest Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 Dear Group, We usually concentrate on the negatives of EN. On how it limits us and how badly we feel. We have all been there, and there is no getting around it. We often feel " just plain lousy " . But EN has two sides to it, and I feel that if we only concentrate on the negative, we will miss out on the gifts. Having an illness like EN makes each " good day " that much better. I have felt discouraged about feeling sick and missing out on good times. But I have felt abolutely THRILLED just walking around the neighborhood after I went into a remission. If walks were something I could always do, maybe they would not be so special. That is the gift of EN, and other disorders that go into remissions. They present us a second chance (and in my case I have had at least 100 second chances). The psychology of autoimmune type illness is as mysterious as these disorders themselves. We ride the roller coaster of flare up and remission. We learn to accept this as normal for us. It can give us faith in the future. We have been ill and have come back to health. What could be more reassuring than that? Wishing Everyone a Wonderful week ahead! Love, Quote
