Guest guest
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAH Ray, I am proud of you. That takes real guts to see you have fallen into a pit and clawed you way out. Donna
Guest guest
Ray, I think you're right about this for most people. I have severe degenerative arthritis in L5-S1. It's a nebulous mess on my x-rays. I started walking in January. I had to take a Lortab to make it past 3 minutes. I am now up to 30 minutes a day and I no longer have to take a Lortab most days to do it. I also do physical therapy twice a day to stretch and strengthen muscles that need it. I am feeling better than I have for quite a while, thanks to the walking and also using a recumbent cervical traction unit. I'm going to do my best to keep this up so I don't get all stoved up like I was before I forced myself to do this. I have lost 15# in the last month. I have a physical job where I do a lot of walking, bending, stooping, etc., but it wasn't enough to get rid of my back pain. The walking has helped. I don't understand how or why it works, but it does. And it was very painful at first, even with a Lortab, but I can now do the treadmill on the steepest incline and I can do my job without a narcotic on most days. I also have a prescription for a hot tub and we will be getting that sometime this summer. Maxine
