Tammy, I had an umbilical hernia that needed repaired and I had my

tummy tuck done at the same time. January 9th, a little over 6 months

ago. I had very little pain, very little discomfort, and the only

problem I had was a seroma, fluid built up right behind the top of

the mons area and it needed to be drained 7 or so times afterwards.

Not fun, but not painful either, just annoying! My before and after

pics are in the reconstructive file under patient number 6. I am no

longer numb at all, my scar is fading, and it feels wonderful not to

have that hanging flap of skin there! I think a LOT of us has hernia

repairs done at the same time as a tummy tuck for insurance reasons,

it was easier to do it all at once! By the way I I belong to the NBC -

No belly button club, because my hernia was right next to my belly

button there was no way to save it and I didn't want to chance a fake

one , with my luck it would have turned black and fell off! So I am

belly buttonless and loving it! It is an adjustment....sometimes I

swear it is there and it itches, but they are just phantom pains and

feelings and we laugh about it and just think....NO MORE NAVEL LINT!!!

LOL....

Good luck with your TT/hernia repair....
