Guest guest
This issue has been discussed before but I am looking at it anew. I was at a Practice Management Course at the recent convention and the speaker advised everyone to contact their insurance companies and found out their “RVU” rate, meaning that they pay a certain $/RVU. After the lecture I advised him that I am quite certain I don’t get paid/RVU as many fees are “blunted” like from 99213 to 99214. He was honesty surprised. 1) Is anyone getting paid on a $/RVU basis? If it were that easy, we would all know our fee schedules instead of having to get a list from each insurer. Or am I the exception to the rule? 2) How do you find RVU values for things that Medicare does not cover and therefore does not list the RVU. For example Preventative Health Service codes, etc. I am starting to compile a list so I can analyze easier.
