Guest guest Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 > The thought of coming to the pool party is becoming too much for me. It is a little like a school reunion..I kinda feel like the pressure to look good is too much to handle. ================================= Hooray!!!!!! Your normal!!!!! Think about it, your having a very cliche reaction...It's a cliche because it is well known and sooooooooooooooooooooooo many people experience the same feelings. This pool party " is " like a reunion for you. Of course you want to look you best...lol...but hey we are an easy crowd to impress! Silly girl...no matter what weight your at, no matter what size cloths you wear, no matter how much your thighs sag...YOU ARE THINNER and LOOK BETTER than you did at the first pool party...you Can't possible fail to impress us! It is understandable that your feeling this way. I think that each of us who get to come back to Dr. K for their follow-up appointments kind of feel the same way. Scale angst. We want to be at our best. I know I start to feel the need to " take off 5 pounds " just before my yearly appointments. The stronger that feeling becomes the more I tend to Chow Down, of course defeating what I want to accomplish. So I kinda understand where your coming from...plus knowing your feelings are even stronger because a longer time period has elasped since you have seen everyone. I hope it helps to know that your reaction is normal. I'm glad your aware of your reactions and are willing to seek help if it truely trips into an abnormal level. Don't think that at the pool party we will be intend on Judging you. Hell there won't be a single person there that doesn't have body issues. The fun thing is...it is a place where we can openly and with understanding commiserate about our scars, pannis, thighs, hernia buldges, new wrinkles, batwings, skin outbreaks, hairloss, back fat, sagging breast......and sitting there amounst us will be a preop just praying that at the next party she/he will be joining in on our post-op discussions because to them we look pretty damn good. Having said all that...going into therapy isn't a sign of weekness but rather strength. If you decide that you want a little help and guideance then bravo for you. Heck you may be able to help a whole lots of us by sharing your learned knowledge along the way. But come to the pool party anyway...face your demons. I can't imagine one of the prettiest girls at the ball going home feeling bad about herself. Hugs Jo Quote

Guest guest Posted June 26, 2004 Report Posted June 26, 2004 Kristy, please come to the party! Even though I can't be there, it sounds like you really need to be surrounded right now by loving, supportive people who know what you're going through. Please don't think you're the only one with weight and eating problems. We're all here to support each other and we love and care about you no matter what. Hugs! Tracey > Ok, confession time. > > The thought of coming to the pool party is becoming too much for me. It is a little like a school reunion..I kinda feel like the pressure to look good is too much to handle. No need for you all to say I look good anyway - I've heard it all before. Doesnt mean I am feeling good about myself. Since I booked the ticket, I have had major food issues and depression because of the food/weight. I am starting to think I might be better not going, but spending the money instead on therapy. > > I feel like I might be on the verge of an eating disorder again. > Shit, even spening $25000 can't solve this problem for me.. I feel out of control. > > Kristy Quote
