Guest guest
I explained my short biography yesterday. I am now into my ninth year of fighting the horror battle of RSD. Physically separate from the RSD, I have been blind since 1992 from an congenital heredity disease handed to me from my maternal grandmother, where the Rod Cone RPE X Recessive Dystrophy skips a generation and then hits 25% of males. There are various forms of the disease. So many eye diseases that cause blindness are hereditary. I would be interested in hearing from others that fight a similar battle, one of chronic pain and two of congenital blindness. Please, if you would like to chat a bit about this unique situation, please contact me either on or off list. Wishing a better day for all! Guest guest
Ken: You are not alone in your situation either. I have retinitis pigmentosa which is a hereditary/genetic eye disease that causes blindness that was diagnosed about 10 years ago. About 3 to 4 years ago, I was also diagnosed with systemic lupus which was in the moderate to severe stages, degenerative joint disease, and neuropathy not to mention I have ulnar neuropathy in my right arm. It is hard being blind and having a chronic illness too. It is even worse when you find out that your chronic illness can cause blindness and the medication that helps slow down the chronic illness (ie lupus - Plaquenil) actually causes blindness. I am sitting here in God's little acre. East of the Rock and West of the Hard Place. Sam The trouble with making plans for the future, even when you can see the future, is that fate has a way of intervening and upsetting the best laid plans of mice and men. - Burns 1785 Ken: Blindness and chronic pain.
