Everybody, you have no idea how much i'd love that to happen. Why? This

is why.

To hear a person who is not gay and who'll never know what's it's like

say, " It's your choice. " to me, or to or about a gay person, ... well i

will hear it, I and every gay person hears it ALL the time, just makes

us either feel it must be our fault somehow or it must be that we are

somewhat less than right.

Some people even use the term " Problem " ( " I don't have a problem with

you being gay. " ) when clarifying what they think us, either as an

approval or disapproval. It is said to us so often and is quite

offensive. Imagine Sam if we said to everybody or some people we have a

problem with you being this or that? Imagine someone have the audacity

to pronounced such a proclamation. Do you want us all to bow down and

say " Thank you. " ? My opinion of that comment is it's firstly based on

total ignorance, it's said by unread people as it is said by well read

people, but it's always said by someone who has heard it said before. It

is not their own original idea.

So getting back to your medical science discovery, i'd love to see that

happen. I'd so love it. for instance. I have brought up my daughter

without any family support , no one bought their grandchild/Neice a

nappy, a toy, a book, a jumper. nothing. I was told " Don't come to us if

you run into trouble. It's your choice to have a baby. " Well isn't it

just. So they watched me bring up a fabulous child, buy my own house,

never once fell on my face, and all without them standing by me. Because

it's my choice i'm gay and don't have a male partner. Well it is not my

choice thank you. But they like to think it is, it absolves anyone from

being obligated to help. But that is only my dysfunctional family.

I can't be any other way. So the less flack I get from ignorant people

the less stress that is added to my life.

And this group is on the whole a hugely open minded intelligent and

thinking group. Basing opinions on well thought out processes and not

just going on hearsay after hearsay.

I stuggle with that so much as a very religious person myself. That's

another reason why I would not choose this way. And I mix so much with

people of the same religious conviction as me. It's a very hard way to

live.

You are. A lot of my gay friends are americans. Eeek. They can't say

they are at work in case they are sacked. one works for NASA. (and is

not low ranking either.)

Well i'll never be a catholic. Sorry. ;-)

oh my goodness. don't they remember this eg in their bible?

It gives practical advice on conducting ourselves as lesser ones. Jesus

made this point, as we read at Luke 14:8-11:

<snipped> " ...when you are invited, go and recline in the lowest place,

that when the man that has invited you comes he will say to you,

'Friend, go on up higher.' Then you will have honour in front of all

your fellow guests. For everyone that exalts himself will be humbled

and he that humbles himself will be exalted. "

Too right. You can pray any where at any time in any position. :-) It

can be short before a meal and it can be day and all night.

Thank you Kathey Sam, lovely Dee, and everyone else.

What a terrific response to a subject that most people don't even

know how to broach...

I will put in my viewpoint for you just because...

I try like heck to respect all people, to me it doesn't matter what

group or category they claim to fall into or appear to fall

into...But..

Sometimes, I see someone who is so atypically on the fringe of

whatever group they are in and I might find myself passing some sort

of judgement but when that happens, I try to re group..for instance.

The other day, While watching TV, I was channel surfing and I came

across this show that was typical of a certain group of people and

the stuff coming out of these people's mouths...and the jumping up

and down and the shouting and the gestures these people were making

just made me want to switch channels all that much faster...now I

admit that I am one of God's children, no more and no less than

anyone else but when I see people like Oral and Jimmy

Swaggart, and Tammy faye Baker...I just want to pitch something at

the television....talk about a bunch of hypocrits..

I guess we all have our demons..<grin>

Beyond what I have shared, all things being equal...so are people and

what people choose to do with their lives, so long as they are not

hurting anyone else and are being good caring humans, I respect and

appreciate them for who they are. I mean with all honesty.... " why

can't we just all learn to get along "

God Bless,

Daphne

<snipped> That was an absolutely beautiful letter.. It make me feel all

warm inside.

I'd love to look that book up. Thank you very much for your gorgeous words.

I'm a bit frightened to type it into google incase I get a whole lot of

porn thrown back at me.

I've already got spam generated mail since this list has been using the

word orgasm. I've never had that before. Has anyone else got mail with

the bastardized word orgasm in it? The heading went like this " Wanna

have str.onger orga.sms sent by dixi tovar " 28.3.04
