I also wonder if a simple panniculectomy or abdominaplasty will give me the desired results (I don't need washboard abs, but I'm tired of having a tummy that hangs between my legs). Also...for those who had tummy tucks with other surgeons, how many did you consult before making your final decision? Thanks in advance!! Banks - Mission Viejo, CA ________________________________________________________________-- , My 2 cents from a couple of PS consults....Dr. K will go above and beyond what insurance will pay for! I got estimates on a pannie, but they WILL NOT pay for any more than a pannie and they don't want to do the anchor incision, just the hip to hip. I need the anchor because I have a lot of tissue above the waist. If I do just the pannie, I'm gonna look like I have 2 rows of boobs! in Bama VBG 1982 (lost from 433lbs to 270's) VBG -RNY1996 revision(Lost from 343 to 299) RNY-DS revision Dec 2002 -down 135 lbs (377.7 to 242.2 and still going) Homepage address- _http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/myhomepage/profile.html_ (http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/myhomepage/profile.html) Many thanks to Dr. K willing to take on a 3rd timer....LOL

Guest guest
I am probably the closest to your situation since I was over 200 pounds still when I had my panni surgery and they removed almost 30 pounds of skin and flesh. I wanted Dr. K. I wanted a Dr. experienced with removing that much flesh. I am afraid I was pretty appalling to the plastic surgeons I talked to. Also they could care less for the measly amount of money my insurance was willing to pay for a panni they wanted the difference up front! I traveled from Washington State for my surgery and did well. My PCP was okay with follow up although I did get referred to a local surgeon when it wouldn't heal up (as many seem like they don't want to do). The local surgeon was more than ready to open me back up and re-close the wound which scared it in to finally healing up. I am VERY pleased with the results but never expected perfection I just wanted to not push that big mound of flesh out of the way with every step. I still look down in amazement at my flat looking belly. And those parts I have seen so little of over the years. (giggle) I guess I need to get over myself and share some more recent photos post. If you have any specific questions I sure would do my best to answer them. One thing I will say, right after surgery I was wishing Dr. K hadn't given me that " dimple " that rather looks like a belly button because all my pain seemed centered there. Now that the pain is pretty much gone (except for some phantom itches and occasional strange sharp pains from nowhere) it is a non issue. in WA DS 3/26/03 Panni 11/21/03 355/
