Guest guest
Thank u so much, i shall go an check the site out. I think the one thing that has gotten me threw the pain is my pet rats. I know lots of people are terrified of them, but they really are just like little dogs, loyal, compassionate and they really bond with people, they are trainable, they know there names, and are even smarter then dogs and cats. They can do some amazing things. A few years ago i had some pet mice (always been a rodent lover) and then i tried 2 rats and OMG, i just fell in love with their personalities and i was hooked. If it wasn't for them i may not even get out of bed some days, so they are also a blessing, hard work.... but, a blessing. I really do think animals are healers in there own way. Which is why they are used for therapy, like for sick children and elderly, they brighten up when an adorable puppy is brought into their hospital room, even the lethargic and terminal pop there heads up with interest, there is just something special about animals and how they make us feel. If and when i recover from my condition i hope to get a degree in Zoology and help animals as much as i can, they need so much help. So many of them are abandoned, abused, neglected. Like rats, most are sold as Snake feed and it isn't right, these are domestic rats they give to their snakes, it's like bringing home a cat for your dog to eat. Rats in pet stores are specificly bred to want to be with humans, yet they sell them as snack food, but there are people who like me who rescue them when they can. I actually LOVE snakes, but i think an alternitive food should be developed for them rather then rats. I'm sorry i am very passionate about rats, and plan to have a rat rescue some day. Anyway, thanks for the link i will check it out today. Hope u have a pain free day
Guest guest
Good Morning ! .. I have to agree about the Rat and mice thing.... Just in the last several weeks my niece got a rat and I have been watching the progress of it and the bond between her and the little one... Midnight is the pets name and it responds to her voice and her singing and is so out right deliberate about wanting to be with her and shows such affection that its uncanny!.. from little kisses and nuzzling to jumping out of her cage into the waiting arms of my niece. I have had mice in the past but this is a whole new level. As to pets and their healing ability, it is a well documented fact that pets lower blood pressure and have other effects on those that come into direct contact with them. Running the gambit of blood pressure to a feeling of self worth on the emotional side. One thing about pets and animals in general, they don't care about politics, where their owners are concerned. The best example of unconditional love that can be shown. ... The stigma of rats being dirty is just that , a stigma, this little one is the cleanest thing I have ever seen. She spends so much time preening and cleaning that you would think she was getting ready for a special occasion. .. Love from a pet, a wonderful healing power and is most often a direct reflection of the owner in my opinion. Guest guest
Hi There: I really hope you get the joy from that site that it has given so many others, my daughter and myself as well. Do you ever watch Emergency Vets on Animal Planet? It usually takes place at a vet hospital called Alameda East. One of the head vets there said that rats, such as yours, are the best pets for younger children because they are very tolerate, loving, and attentive. A friend of my husband's bought a rat for food for his snake but the snake didn't want him. The rat grew so large that he ended up keeping him as a pet and loved him so much. I really hope you enjoy that website. It is wonderful when a place is set up just for the passing of animals. I tell my girls that animals go to heaven too. That really made my little one feel better when our Pom passed away. Sam I'm sorry i am very passionate about rats, and plan to have a rat rescue some day.
