Guest guest
Tracey Average was more than I could ever dream of and a really comfortable place to be! You know I seldom feel like I " look " any different. But I experience a new miracle all the time and never take one for granted. It was so wonderful flying this time without needing a seat belt extender, being able to put the tray table down. Average is just wonderful! happy hugs! My daughter took us all to a small carnival this past week because of her wanting to get out of the area so she wouldn't think about not going to the prom(No date). She refused to go Stag. She took her check and when we went to near anniston to see where Tom worked, There was a fair at the fairgrounds. Come to think of it, That's what my back is in a horible flare, As I should have known better, but sometimes you just have to say to hell with it and pay the consequences later....Kind of like an alcoholic knows the hangover will come the next day, sometimes I have to live life and just pray the next day won't be the worst of my life......Well it has......I got sick that night with the stomach thing going around and between the rides and the puking, I have been having horrendous spasms in my back....And I only rode 3 rides.....I guess I will have to mark fairs off my list until I get stupid again. Anyway, I got on the first ride and the seat belt was so small, I almost cried, Then I realized that it was the kind that caught when you stopped pulling, and put it back in, and then let it get pulled all the way out and there was tons of room. All 3 rides were no problem size wise....Pre op I wouldn't have been able to fit in any of them. After seeing last weeks post about the roller coaster, I had wished for one, but nope....This was enough to tell me that normal was so close. All the bars went down, I wasn't embarassed, and it was fun. I did find out that I get motion sick easy, and never have before....Wonder why? That's why only 3 rides ....The body was willing but the tummy was threatening to hurl....LOL. I know this sounds like a tiny thing in the road to normal......But when you've been where I have you know this is a huge hurdle. in Bama VBG 1982 (lost from 433lbs to 270's) VBG -RNY1996 revision(Lost from 343 to 299) RNY-DS revision Dec 2002 -down 135 lbs (377.7 to 242.2 and still going) Homepage address- http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/myhomepage/profile.html Many thanks to Dr. K willing to take on a 3rd timer....LOL

And one of the funnestest hurdles! I'm sorry you are sick, Mel, but I'm glad you got to have fun at the carnival! Get well soon (and I know what you mean about saying the heck with it and doing something not in the best interests of your back...since the problem is always going to be there, sometimes tossing our hats in the wind is necessary! I have paid and paid for 2 solid days for about 20 minutes of fun on a couple of rides ....I can't stand up straight, I was out of muscle relaxers, and I call and my friend Alice gave me a few late last night till I could get to the pharmacy ad get mine filled. (Her hubby has a ruptured disc and NEVER takes meds so he didn't need them). I gave her some to replace them, but not having a 24hrs pharmacy is the pits!! I wish Wlagreens would open 24/7. They say they are most places. I guess I'm going to have to realize carnival rides are gonna be a no-no for me from here out. in Bama VBG 1982 (lost from 433lbs to 270's) VBG -RNY1996 revision(Lost from 343 to 299) RNY-DS revision Dec 2002 -down 135 lbs (377.7 to 242.2 and still going) Homepage address- http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/myhomepage/profile.html Many thanks to Dr. K willing to take on a 3rd timer....LOL
