Ibuprofen/Exedrine/Pain Relievers Question

Hello all my smart friends out there. I have a question, and I can't

seem to find an answer in my workbook Dee gave me before surgery. I

know that 10 days before surgery we could not take any drugs that

Dr. K didn't know about, no asprin, ibuprofen and a list of others,

due to blood thinning and stuff like that. But how about now that in

just a few days I will be three months out of surgery? I rarely feel

the need to take any pain relievers, however, the other day I had

the worst headache of my life, and I took nothing! Because I didn't

know if it was okay or not, and I felt to bad to pick up the phone

and call the office. (I know that's just silly) Now, I think because

of my TMJ that i've had since I was a child, I just noticed while

brushing my teeth, that the right side of my jaw is a little

swollen. It doesn't really hurt, but I'd love to take an ibuprofen

and see if the swelling goes down. It does not hurt, it's just a

little bigger than the other side, and I would like to take one. I

hope someone is up late and reading these messages, because I would

love an answer. Will taking 1 ibuprofen cause any damage to having

my stomach surgery? I don't want to ruin all Dr. K's good work. I

promise if you give me some advice, I won't hold you responsible!

What works for you? I'll wait to hear from you...thanx 4 your

help...just looking for a general rule of thumb being kinda new

still. Thanx, Love and HUgs...Deb :-)

You're in luck, Deb, because I am up and reading these messages! LOL

I was told by Dr.K that I could have been taking ibuprofen a couple

weeks after surgery.

I am currently taking Ibu 800 mgs three times each day (or trying to

remember to) for neck strain, but I am two years out. Not having a

problem with it at all.
