BTW, I tend to keep my spiritual beliefs to myself because many

the rounds. :)

Hi Journeywork,

My nada is one of those people - she taught me that " earth-based "

meant " devil worship " . Now I'm glad to say that I have wiccan

friends, and we learn a lot from each other. I'm also sensitive to

the kind of energy (positive vs. negative) I feel when I walk into a

home, and careful to cultivate positive energy in my own. Even in my

dreams I can remember the oppressive feeling of the horribly bad

energy in the house I grew up in. Yuck!

I like the idea of the peace poles, but maybe for what we're talking

about we could make our own: " May Peace Prevail in this House " .

I kind of like the Native American concept of the burden basket.

It is based on the concept that a person's home (and possessions and

SELF) is sacred - and that you should honor the " sacred space " of

others - as well as treat your own space as sacred and demand that

others do as well.

In some Native American traditions a burden basket is placed outside

the door to remind others not to enter your sacred space with their

burdens. They are to place their burdens in the basket before they

enter your home. When they leave - they are to take their burdens

back with them once again.. and not leave them with you.

Usually the burden baskets are kind of small and can be quite pretty.

but for nada's..... hmmmm.. do they still make those BIG wicker

laundry baskets?
