Please don't take this the wrong way, but that sentence reminds me of nada's house. 'Sensitive' topics were off limits and criticism wasn't tolerated (it still isn't, to this day). If someone is expressing anger at the role religion played in their abuse, it is not meant as a personal attack on someone else's religion. Also, I don't think it's fair to make Edith the forum police -- we're all adults here? Just an opinion -- pls don't take it personally(thanks)...sunsh

Guest guest
<<<<<<< > Edith, > > I thought that religion was a topic that is either off limits or not to be criticized. There was a recent post that was very negative and offensive regarding Christians. I understand that everyone is entitled to their own interpretations but if this is to be a safe place then I feel that religion should not be criticized. I would never speak negatively of anyone's religion and would like to know that the same courtesy is extended to others. > > Kathy>>>>>>>> Kathy, I haven't followed all the posts recently, so I am not sure which one you are referring to. If I read it, I know that it wasn't offensive to me. I'm just saying that to point out that what is offensive to one person may not be to someone else. Did you reply to the poster(s) about your feelings? Would that be a helpful way for you to protect your boundaries? This is just a thought. In my past, I have sometimes tried to get something done without offending anyone. The end result was usually that no one was offended, and nothing got done. This is a safe board, and I hope you feel safe going directly to someone who you feel has been offensive and get a discussion going to clarify the issue.
