We are on OLE for a week and I see great improvement from my son included behaviro wise, physcially healthier, speech improves a lot. Now, We switch to grapefruit seed extract ( same function like OLE), seems he reacts to grapefruit seed extract better ( less hyperactitivtiy) than OLE. But, Both OLE and grapefruit seed extract contains high phenol, make sure your little one does not have phenol intolerant or phenol sensitivity reaction. If your little one gets more hyper, develop dark circle under eyes, trouble with sleeping at night, and that show he is phenol intolerant, and you may need to cut down OLE and add phenol assist ( from Kirkman Labs) after his three meals. That is the experiecne so far. My son weighs about 70lbs, we give him 500mg OLE in the morning, another 500mg OLE at night, usually you want to start slowly and after a week gradually add more. Thanks, Rei. I will order No Phenol from Houstons. Both my boys weigh about 36 pounds and do have phenol sensitivities.

I would start with OLE. I've never tried Virastop with my son. I

was planning to, but we saw such phenomenal results with natural

antivirals that I never saw any reason to. We started with OLE, then

added grapefruit seed extract and then Sambucol. We're currently

doing all of these and Valtrex and lysine and seeing some awesome

gains. Good Luck!

I am just wondering...do people see better results and less side

effects if they use OLE as oppose to Valtrex? We have our son on

Valtrex and it has been a really tough week. He has really good moments

and REALLY BAD moments. What is everyone opinion...do you prefer OLE or

Valtrex?

Thanks,

Ann

We are doing both, so I'm really not sure. If you've already started

with the Valtrex I would stick with that. After he stabilizes you

could consider adding in other natural antivirals. If he's having

good and bad moments that means the Valtrex is working.

We started with OLE first, and had a healing regression just as

intense as what I've heard about with Valtrex and then when we added

Valtrex to the mix we had another one (not as long as the first,

maybe because he'd already had the BIG ONE, but essentially the same

in every other way). Every time we add a new antiviral or up a

dosage we see some kind of a reaction that comes with some kind of

regression accompanied by gains.

Sambucol is a formulation of elderberry extract and echinacia that is

kind of like a cough syrup. My son actually loves it and asks for

his purple medicine. I give it to him twice a day. I started giving

it to him after I found an article on pubmed about a woman in the

1980's who had HIV and drastically lowered her very, very high viral

titers by taking OLE and sambucol. It has worked very well for us.

The recommended dosage for intensive use for children age 1-6 is 1-2

tsps twice a day. We take 2 tsps twice a day. Here's a link to the

kind we buy from Vitamin Shoppe- it's a childrens formulation.

What are the different functions between these two? And what is the proper doesage of GSE you may recommend? My son is 10 years old, weighs about 70 lbs. So far, I give him 125mg GSE per day.
