Guest guest Posted March 16, 2008 Report Share Posted March 16, 2008 Dawn, My 16 yr old daughter was placed on Luvox when the Paxil we had started stopped working after about 8 months. I have to say that we saw no difference on Luvox. She has thoughts of people close to her dying if she doesn't perform he rituals. At the time we had to see a new psychiatrist since our family doctor felt he was out of his league. This person only kept upping the medication until she was taking 150 mg of Luvox and 25 mg of Serquel because she wasn't sleeping at night. We finally went to a new psychologist that was known to have a good track record for OCD. We ended up off the Luvox but she still couldn't get over the hurdle. She is now on 10mg of Prozac. It helps keep her compulsions down. It is up to her to do the therapy to correctly to take care of the rest. Good luck. My prayers are with you. His pediatric neurologist has suggested weening him off the prozac and starting him on Luvox to help with all his OCD rituals. Does anyone have any experience/comments regarding Luvox? Although he just started this past Thursday, he has already reverted back to tantrums when he does not get his own way.
